Riva di Levante translates to 'steep bank where the sun rises.' Grapes are sourced from a 3 acre block on the eastern slope, where the elevation peaks at 2000 feet. The soil is a deep red loam and is the source behind the name "Cimarossa" (red hill top).
A focused wine beginning with aromas of vanilla crème brûlée, toasted marshmallow, and new leather jacket. On the nose red fruits jump out plus hints of white pepper and juniper. Excellent structure from the tannins backed by dark berry fruits on the palate with distinct minerality. Beautiful purple-black color at the core.
