Cabernet Sauvignon

Rian translates to 'seasonal creek' in Dino's Genovese dialect. Grapes are sourced from two vineyard blocks split by a creek lined with olive trees. The vines are planted in a porous volcanic base with thin top soil, providing excellent drainage and therefore, very small, intense berries.

“The 2009 Cabernet Sauvignon Rian Vineyard is another huge 2009 from Cimarossa. Licorice, herbs, tobacco, mint and black fruit are some of the notes that flow from this imposing, textured 2009. Unlike the other 2009s, the Rian is likely to require considerable patience. Anticipated maturity: 2017 – 2029”
