Riva di Ponente
Riva di Ponente translates to 'steep bank where the sun sets.' Grapes are sourced from a 1.4 acre vineyard block with full western exposure. This is probably our warmest block due to the afternoon sun. The soil is a black volcanic rock.
93 points ~ The Wine Advocate, December 2011
The 2009 Cabernet Sauvignon Riva di Ponente Vineyard flows across the palate with layers of dark blue and black fruit. Silky, polished tannins give the 2009 an element of suppleness that is quite pretty. This is a typical 2009.” Anticipated maturity: 2014 – 2024
