Riva di Levante
Riva di Levante translates to 'steep bank where the sun rises.' Grapes are sourced from a 3 acre block on the eastern slope, where the elevation peaks at 2100 feet. The soil is a deep red loam and is the source behind the name "Cimarossa" (red hill top).
"One of the more sensual wines of the lineup... Sweet dark raspberries, flowers, mint and spices are all woven together nicely in this subtle, refined and totally polished cabernet sauvignon. Underlying mountain tannins are present, but they are nicely balanced by the fruit. Overall, the Riva di Levante is a sexy, intriguing wine to drink over the next decade or so. Anticipated maturity: 2015-2025" ~ Antonio Galloni, The Wine Advocate, December 2012
